Middle & High School Counselors

School counselors are an essential part of Lakeview's Student Support Services team. They support the whole student by connecting academic success, personal/social development, college and career readiness, and postsecondary planning. Their work is collaborative, student-centered, data-informed, and focused on helping students stay engaged in school and make meaningful progress toward graduation and life beyond Lakeview.

πŸ“š Academic & Graduation Support

  • Review student academic progress, credits, grades, attendance, and course requirements.

  • Help students develop self-advocacy, decision-making, coping, communication, and relationship skills.
  • Support students experiencing school, peer, family, or transition-related concerns.

  • Promote belonging, school engagement, healthy relationships, and positive help-seeking.

Counselors + Student Support = One Team

Counselors do not work in isolation. They collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, mental-health staff, social workers, behavior support, restorative practices, MTSS teams, and community partners to address barriers to learning and support student success.

When academic, attendance, behavioral, social-emotional, or career concerns overlap, the team works together to identify the right level of support and monitor progress.
